Our first ever Year of Reading Challenge is about to come to an end as we ask folks to participate in our final theme—Mysteries! Throughout the year, we have had a different theme every month, and any book you read that fits the theme makes you eligible to win a gift card. But you have also had the opportunity to track all of the books you have read up to 100, each of those books an entry into the grand prize drawing for a book lovers basket. We will be pulling for that the first week of January, so very best of luck!
But for now, mysteries! Read any mystery and log it as an Activity Badge to be entered into the December drawing for a gift card. Below is a list compiled by staff using the NoveList database, which you can also use here. (And once again including a few of my personal favorites. I’m listening to the Jo Nesbo story collection on audio right now!) The book you read to complete the Activity doesn’t have to come from this list, though. These are just some suggestions in case you need help picking a book.
Have you not signed up yet for The Year of Reading Challenge? It’s never too late! Read more about the challenge here. Sign up in Beanstack to get started. And remember to log your monthly theme book as an Activity badge to be considered for the drawing!

Another suggestion for a mystery is A Rising Man by Abir Mukherjee, which is the December pick for the First Monday Book Chat. Pick up a copy at the checkout desk and feel free to join us Monday, December 6 at 2 p.m. to discuss the book. I’ll tell you right now, I’ve just started reading it, and I LOVE it!
