In 2021 the North Canton Public Library is encouraging adults to read all year, and we even have some great incentives for doing so. How is it going to work and what can you win? Let me explain just how easy and fun it will be!
Everything will be done online through Beanstack, which those of you who did summer reading with us in 2020 will be familiar with. You will also already have an account set up that you can use for this challenge. If you don’t already have an account with Beanstack, it only takes a couple minutes to set up. Once you have your Beanstack account, it’s just a matter of joining The Year of Reading Challenge!
At the end of 2021, one lucky reader will win a book lover’s basket, full of goodies. How do you enter to win the Grand Prize? It really could not be easier. You are going to log each book you read when you finish it. (See Beanstack for more info on what books you should count.) Each book is an entry for the Grand Prize, and you can log up to 100 books. And that’s all there is to it!
Each month is also going to have a theme. If you read and finish a book that fits the theme during the month, you can log it as a completed Activity. This enters you into the monthly drawing for a gift card. Each month you can check the NCPL blog and social media accounts, as well as your email (once you’ve registered for the Challenge) for a list of books that fit the theme if you need help choosing a book. However, you should absolutely feel free to select your own book that fits the theme. For instance, the January theme is Romance. Watch this space for a list of Romance novels you might want to read, or go find a Romance novel on your own, and then log it on Beanstack once you finish it to be entered in the January drawing.
And that’s all there is to it! Join the challenge any time during the year, and participate, or not, in as many of the monthly drawings as you want. It’s all up to you. Just know that the more you read, the more chances you have to win!
Happy 2021 reading!
