80th ANNUAL MAY SHOW
Entries will be accepted February 1 through April 12, 2023.
Exhibit on display May 1 through June 24, 2023.
The call for entries is open to any artist 16 years of age or older living or working in Stark County. Each artist may submit up to two pieces of artwork. All works submitted must be original, recent (within the past three years) and not previously exhibited in a Little Art Gallery show. All media will be accepted.
Entry Form and Entry Fee are to be submitted together. You may deliver them to the North Canton Public Library circulation desk or mail to, The Little Art Gallery c/o the North Canton Public Library, 185 North Main Street, North Canton, OH 44720. Entry Fee accepted in two forms only (cash or check) made out to FLAG (Friends of the Little Art Gallery). There is a non-refundable fee of $15 per piece of artwork and fee must accompany your entry form. Entry Images may be emailed to email@example.com, delivered via digital storage device to the to the North Canton Public Library circulation desk, or mailed to The Little Art Gallery c/o the North Canton Public Library, 185 North Main Street, North Canton, OH 44720. Images of artwork must be submitted by digital photography in jpeg format for the jurying process. Up to four photographs of each artwork will be allowed. All components of the artwork must be visible in original submission. Do not superimpose any information (including artist’s name) on the photographs. Label digital files with artist’s first and last name followed by the artwork title.
For assistance with the submission process, you may bring your digital photographs or bring your physical artwork to be photographed and submitted (free). Email firstname.lastname@example.org or call Elizabeth Blakemore at 330.499.4712 x312 to schedule a day and time.
Work must be completely ready to hang or display. Frames must be sturdy and in good condition. Hanging work must have D-rings secured to the back with wire attached. Eyehooks and saw tooth hangers will not be accepted. Artwork must be properly labeled with completed identification cards attached to the back. Three-dimensional works may have the identification card securely tied to them. The gallery reserves the right to disqualify any work that does not meet these requirements.
Artists will receive an email notification about accepted works only on April 14, 2023.
Artists without access to email will receive phone notification by 4 p.m. on April 14, 2023.
Two independent jurors will select the works to be exhibited in the 80th Annual May Show. All decisions of the jurors are final. Juror biographies will be printed in the exhibit catalogue.
Best in Show $500, Second Place $400, Third Place $300, People’s Choice $100
Artists are responsible for delivery of accepted work. An artist representative may deliver work if the artist is unavailable. Late work will be disqualified from the exhibit and will be excluded regardless of circumstances. Packing materials must be clearly marked with the artist’s name if they are to be returned following the exhibition. Please use the Library’s main entrance and proceed to gallery office inside the gallery. The gallery will receive art April 17 between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and April 18 between 5 and 7 p.m.
