Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to get a North Canton Public Library card?
Please bring a Driver’s License or State I.D. with your current address. If you don’t have your current address on your I.D., you will need to bring a form with your name and new address on it, such as a utility bill, insurance notification or lease agreement. If you do not have any of these items, please call us.

Please note: New patrons will receive probationary cards for the first 30 days. After 30 days, patrons in good standing will have access to all materials.

Do I have to live in North Canton city limits to get a library card?
No.

What can I borrow and for how long?
Please see Borrowing Materials.

How do I renew the materials I have out?
Use our account phone line at 330.499.1740 or visit the “my account” page on our website to renew your items. If you have a problem renewing your items, contact us at 330.499.4712 and press 1.
Items that are reserved will not renew.

Where can I return the materials I’ve borrowed?
Library items may be returned either in the outdoor book-drops or inside the library during regular library hours. If you are concerned about an item being checked in the day it is due, please walk it inside to return it. Dropping items in the drop box outside does not ensure they will be checked in on the same day, depending on scheduled times for emptying the bins.

Can I return material from an Akron Summit or Stark County library system to you?
No. We are an independent library, and are not affiliated with Akron Summit or Stark County library systems. Please return only North Canton Public Library materials to our library.

What about fines?
Please see Pay a Fine.
