For years, one of my favorite resources the library offered was Lynda.com, a website with hours and hours of streaming videos teaching dozens and dozens of difference skills. What you could learn was as varied as customer service skills, Microsoft Word, digital photography, and project management. And with the lessons broken down into short videos, it was easy to squeeze in a video here, a lesson there whenever I found the time.

Well, we still have this service (Huzzah!), but it is now called LinkedIn Learning. LinkedIn, the popular career social media site, has long owned Lynda.com, and a couple months ago, they changed the name. Not a lot else has changed, though. If you had an account with Lynda.com, your history is still in LinkedIn Learning. There are some small differences in how the site looks, but the biggest change is that you will log in with your library card instead of an email you set up. Oh, and the app for Android and Apple is easier to log into, and it looks a lot like the website, which makes it nice when you switch back and forth between the app and website.

Just to help folks out, both old and new to this service, I’ve made a new handout explaining how to access, log in, and use LinkedIn Learning. You can check that out here or stop in at the Reference Desk and we can give you a hardcopy. Happy learning!
