This Saturday from 11-2, the library will be hosting our Summer Reading Kick-Off. There’s going to be ice cream from Pav’s, Akron Zoo tickets for the Kids, candy for Teens, and notebooks for Adults. (See more Kick-Off and registration details here.)
But Kickoff is just the beginning. Throughout Summer Reading there will be additional prizes to win along the way, such as gift cards, highlighters, and books in Teens. Plus there will be additional prizes at the end of Summer Reading, all earned just for reading and coming to programs. For instance, the first 200 Children to complete their Reading Record will receive an Epic yard sign. Teens will be entered into a drawing to win a Nintendo Switch or a Google Home Mini. And Adults will have the chance to win one of three prize baskets. There’s great stuff in all the baskets, including a $50 gift certificate for a cleaning service in the Tidying basket, 4 Akron RubberDucks vouchers in the Baseball basket, and a Roku in the Tech basket.
