The voting in the first round of Library Madness was fantastic! There was a lot of passionate support for some really great books, and I just loved how excited some people got when they saw the idea. If you’re curious, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy was the top vote getter in the first round, which, good for Douglas Adams fans, but it now starts from scratch in Round 2 as it faces The Help. There were also some genuine surprises and upsets. Ron Chernow’s biography Alexander Hamilton upset In Cold Blood, the top Nonfiction vote getter in the nomination phase, and The Joy Luck Club defeated All the Light We Cannot See, the Fiction book that received the second most nominations. I think the moral of the story is that anything can happen in March.

Below are the Round 2 matchups. Vote in person or on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram by tagging the Library (@NCantonLibrary) and using the hashtag #LibraryMadness. Voting for this round lasts through Sunday, March 10.
