Let me start by saying that I could not be happier with the really wonderful amount of participation we had in our first ever entirely online round of #LibraryMadness. We had nearly as many votes as we typically have when the library is open, and the fact people are still passionately engaging with the library on something they love makes me feel like the time I’m putting in every day at my dining room table is worth it. So thank you to all of you who voted. You made my week.

Now that we have that bit of sappiness out of the way, let’s talk about the results! The Sound of Music took out Snow White without breaking much of a sweat to advance to the finals. The vote was closer in the other matchup, but at the end of the day, it’s Dorothy skipping down the yellow brick road, leaving Star Wars in the space dust. That leaves us with two musical favorites in the final, but which will you choose? Will the hills be alive with The Sound of Music or are we off to see The Wizard of Oz? You get to decide.

Votes will be accepted until 11:59 pm/Midnight on Monday, March 30. You can vote in the comments to this blog or hit us up on social media (where we’re @NCantonLibrary). I’ll announce the winner Tuesday and I’ll draw the winner of the gift basket when I finally get back into the library!

Be well everyone,

Shelia

It is the movie that has almost daily allusions to so many elements of the movie in our culture and politics.
