I mentioned back when I was getting ready for the How-To Festival a great database called NoveList. It’s the perfect way to find your next book to read, get a book that fits a homework assignment, or if you’re a teacher, plan your next assignment. It covers millions of books and helps you find books by appeal factors, like, say, a fast-paced teen book with a diverse cast, or a bittersweet adult novel with flawed characters. But it also makes it easy to search books by Lexile Score and offers lesson plans and Common Core Standards information for students and teachers. Seriously, if you read, this database can help you out.

And if you want to know more about NoveList, you are in luck! I’ll be teaching a class all about it next Wednesday, April 24. Register (or just turn up—I’m not picky) to find out more. Oh, and if you want to follow along during the class, be sure to bring your laptop or tablet.

Hope to see you there, but if you can’t make it, check out my handout here.
