Hi! I’m Sally Thomas and I’m a library associate in the children’s department at the North Canton Public Library.
The children’s department offers programs for children from babies up to fifth graders. I have a program called Reading Round Up for children 3 to 5 years old. I offer an Evening Story Time for that age group once a month when possible. I have Saturday parties for 2 to 6 year olds that offer a short program followed by crafts and games. I visit many of the Kindergarten classes in North Canton with a short program once a month.
If you come to our children’s department in the evening on the first or third Tuesday of the month, you will see Sarge, our Tail-Wagging Tutor. Sarge is a golden retriever who comes in twice a month to listen to children read to him. Children love to practice their reading with Sarge and Sarge loves the attention. I love to see the children’s reading skills improve because they are excited about reading to Sarge.
