78th Annual May Show
Entries are being accepted for the gallery’s annual juried fine art exhibit featuring artworks created by artists living and or working in Stark County. Due to the pandemic, 78th Annual May Show submissions will be accepted by email to gallery@northcantonlibrary.org only (with payments delivered to or mailed to the Library).
Paper entry forms are available in the gallery or may be printed.
ELIGIBILITY
The call for entries is open to any artist 16 years of age or older living or working in Stark County. All works submitted must be original, recent (within the past three years) and not previously exhibited in a Little Art Gallery show. All media will be accepted. Entry deadline is April 14, 2021 at close of business (6 p.m.)
ENTRY INSTRUCTIONS
Photographs of Artwork: Each artist may submit up to two pieces of artwork. For the jurying process, artwork must be represented by digital photography. No more than two photographs of each artwork will be allowed. All components of the artwork must be visible in original submission. Each digital file must be 300-dpi in jpeg format. Do not superimpose any information (including artist’s name) on the photographs. Digital files must be labeled with artist’s first and last name followed by the artwork title, corresponding exactly with the name and title on the entry form (example: Pablo Picasso-The Old Guitarist). No components that were not part of the work upon submission may be added to accepted artwork. Email images to gallery@northcantonlibrary.org.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Work must be completely ready to hang or display. Works on paper must be framed under glass or plexiglass. Frames must be sturdy and in good condition. Clip and plastic box frames are not acceptable. For safety reasons, all hanging work must have D-rings secured to the back with wire attached. Eye hooks and saw tooth hangers will not be accepted. Artwork must be properly labeled with completed identification cards attached to the back. Please be certain identification cards match the entry form. Three-dimensional works may have the identification card securely tied to them. The gallery reserves the right to disqualify any work that is does not meet these requirements.
NOTIFICATION
Artists will receive an email notification about accepted works only on April 16, 2021. Artists without access to email will receive phone notification before Friday, April 16 at 4 p.m.
FEES
Each artist may submit up to two works. A non-refundable $15 fee per piece of artwork must accompany entries. Works may be for sale. The Little Art Gallery is commission free. Artists are encouraged to donate a portion of sales to help fund artistic promotions and the gallery.

DELIVERY
Artists are responsible for delivery of accepted work between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on days when the North Canton Public Library is regularly open between April 20 and 22, 2021. Late work will be disqualified from the exhibit. Artwork not received by 4 p.m. April 22, 2021 will be excluded regardless of circumstances. Packing materials must be clearly marked with the artist’s name if they are to be returned after the exhibition. Please use the Library main entrance and proceed to gallery office inside the gallery. An artist representative may deliver work if the artist is unavailable.
PICK-UP
Work must be picked up following the exhibit between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., June 1 through June 3, 2021. Artwork not picked up by 4 p.m. June 3 will become the property of the North Canton Public Library. An artist representative may pick-up work if the artist is unavailable.
JURORS
Two independent jurors will select the works to be exhibited in the 78th Annual May Show. All decisions of the jurors are final. Juror biographies will be printed in the exhibit catalogue.
