The final votes have been tallied, and I have to say #LibraryMadness has been a great isolation activity. We received more votes in the final round this year than we did last year when the library building was open, and I just think that’s the best! (And it puts the lie to folks who are saying libraries are closed. We’re not closed. We’re just online more than ever.) Really, this has been great, and thank you so much to everyone who voted!

And now you probably just want me to get to the point and tell you who won?

Well, if you insist.

If you’re ready.

The winner is….

Yellow brick road in the forest

The Wizard of Oz!

A wonderful movie at any time, this is also such a great choice right now. I mean, think about it. Who wouldn’t like to be swept away on an adventure to a beautiful, far away place with three amazing friends and a dog? To find what you lack and come out of a fantastical experience a better, fuller person? To get some shiny new shoes? It all sounds pretty great, doesn’t it? Truly, this movie has endured for over 80 years because there is so much joy and hope to be found in it, something else it’s rather nice to think about right now.

Oh, and perhaps most importantly, this movie reminds us there’s no place like home.

I knew it— It had to be this one –esp. now , when our world as we know it , is in utter turmoil..We need to know,,”There,s no place like home”.. Love this film , have used quotes from it over the many years I’ve been around.

Thank you, once again for a a unique March Madness experience.!
