“Tai Chi does not mean oriental wisdom or something exotic. It is the wisdom of your own senses, your own mind and body together as one process.” Chungliang Al Huang

There are many different Tai-Chi practices. We offer Tai-Chi Chuan, Yang Style forms 1-8:  “Moving for Better Balance.” It is styled to help improve physical function, reduce falls, and improve balance. All are welcome to come by and give us a try – all ages, genders, and levels of physical ability.

I trained for 16 hours in this style with Master Trainer Howard Gibbs. We offer 12-week programs in the library (check for dates and times). The things you don’t learn in library school! If you enjoy yourself during How-To, please come see me Tuesdays at 11:30 a.m. Looking forward to seeing you during the festival.

Is there a Tai Chi class during the winter months at the North Canton Library? Is there a cost for the 12 week class? Time for classes during winter months if available.

Hi! Classes are currently scheduled through November. (September 10, 17, 24, October 1, 8, 15, 22, 28, November 5, 12, 19, 26 at 11:30 a.m.) There is no cost to attend. We’re not sure about winter classes yet, but if they’re offered, you’ll see them on our web calendar, social media, enews and in our print newsletter.
