Class Time: 1:45 p.m.

Bicycle gurus from Ernie’s Bicycle Shops will be demonstrating how to assess the different types of flat tires and how to change that flat tire, so you can enjoy your ride.  They will also touch on the 10 point bicycle safety check.  This is a great how to clinic for the beginning cyclist or the savvy pro who is looking for a refresher.

Our presenters:
Joe Ringer
Joe Ringer has worked at Ernie’s Bike Shop for thirteen years.  He spent ten years at the Massillon location and the last three as Service Manager at the North Canton location.

Joe has ventured into most types of cycling but prefers mountain biking and gravel riding. Traveling to new places to ride is one of his favorite things to do.  Riding the GAP and C&O trail from Pittsburgh to Washington DC and the Appalachian Beer Trail in North Carolina in the same summer were the last big bike trips he has done.

Dennis Updike
Recently retired from corporate management, Dennis serves as Ernie’s Community Outreach Coordinator.  He is an active member of the Stark County Bicycle Club since 2001 and volunteers with Stark Parks District and the Massillon Area Greenways.

Dennis, an avid outdoorsman, finds cycling to be a great way to keep active.  Some of his favorite rides are with his wife, Sharon, on the Ohio Erie Towpath. While he has taken self-contained bike tours around the mid-west, he has also participated in 22 tours of The Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure (GOBA). This has offered a great way to traverse the backroads of Ohio, explore our history, and meet new friends along the way. When not cycling, he enjoys restoring used bicycles and spending time fishing in local lakes and rivers.
