The North Canton Public Library will “explore the world of sustainability” throughout April, and we are excited to partner with Scott Bryant of Rembryant Studios and ystark!, a department of the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce dedicated to attracting, retaining and engaging young professionals in Stark County, to offer the Little Art Gallery’s upcoming exhibit featuring artwork made from sustainable materials.
Eco Evolution, on display in the Little Art Gallery from April 3-10, will examine the evolution of discarded materials turned beautiful artistic design. Featuring artwork created from repurposed materials including wood and metal, Scott Bryant’s collection “The Language of Branches,” is dedicated entirely to trees. Additionally, the exhibit will showcase the fashion designs of local artists who competed in the 2013 ystark! Wear & Share event. An opening reception for the show will be hosted by the North Canton Public Library in the Little Art Gallery Thursday, April 3 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
In a nutshell, Wear & Share is a fashion show of repurposed or upcycled fashions by local designers, local designers, who create their “looks” from items purchased at the stores of Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio. Wear & Share 2014 will be hosted by ystark! at the Joseph Saxton Gallery of Photography on Earth Day, Tuesday, April 22. Those who attend the opening reception for Eco Evolution will not only have an opportunity to see the previous year’s fashion designs, but also to purchase tickets to the Wear & Share 2014 event at a 50 percent discount, making them $10.
